He has spent 11 years in Santander, where he led R&D and the Blockchain practice for years and held several corporate leadership roles in Investment Banking, Consumer Finance, and IT & Operations. Prior to that he worked for 6 years at McKinsey & Co, where he advised many leading financial services firms in Europe and LatAm, and played a leadership role in the financial services practice. He started his career as a chip designer and system programmer.
He was the founding chairman of the EEA, the founding chairman of Alastria, a board member of WSBA and co-founder of the USC project.
Julio holds a MsC in Telecommunication Engineering from UPM, a PhD in CS/EE from UAM, and a MSc in Management of Technology from MIT-Sloan.
